For me—art is an act of trust. Rarely do I know for sure how a piece will turn out, but if I trust each step leads to something better—it works.

My work is strongly influenced by mid-century abstract expressionists like Joan Mitchell, Helen Frankenthaler, William DeKooning, Vasily Kandisky, and Mark Rothko; as well as others—like Georgia O'Keefe. These artist's use of color and form has made a long-lasting impression on me.

Additionally, I am deeply interested in the study of consciousness. Because of this, my work often explores the relationship between energy—and thought, emotion, etc.—and matter.
